That Sweet-Salty Balance
Butterkist has been doing this for years, and the sweet and salty combo is the one they've basically built their reputation on. Each 12g bag is tiny, honestly smaller than you expect, but that's sort of the point. Sixty calories. You eat one, feel like you've had a snack, and move on with your life. It actually works.
I had a bag on my desk last week during a long afternoon call. Didn't reach for biscuits. Small win, but a real one.
Who This Is Actually For
If you're packing kids' lunchboxes, these are spot on. Gluten free, portion-controlled, and kids genuinely like them rather than just tolerating them. Same goes if you're trying to keep snacking vaguely sensible at work without going full sad rice cake territory.
Who it's not for: anyone who wants a proper generous bowl of popcorn for a film night. Six bags of 12g is not that. You'll eat all six in about four minutes and feel a bit short-changed.
The Honest Reservation
The price point here is low enough that it's hard to complain, but the value depends entirely on what you're comparing it to. A full-size bag from the same brand costs a fraction more and gives you considerably more popcorn. The grab-bag format is really about convenience and portion control, not economy.
Still, for what it is, not half bad. The flavour is proper Butterkist, which is to say it's a bit addictive in that very familiar, slightly artificial but weirdly satisfying way. No apologies for liking it.
