The texture is genuinely smooth, not gluey. Spread it cold from the fridge and it holds up fine on toast without tearing the bread apart, which is more than you can say for some own-brand efforts I've tried.
Who this is actually for
If you're eating peanut butter straight off a spoon at 11pm (no judgement), blending it into a protein shake, or using it in a satay sauce, this does the job properly. It tastes like peanuts, not like something pretending to be peanuts.
For kids who want the sweetened, spreadable stuff they're used to, this probably isn't the one. It's a bit more... grown-up. Slightly bitter in a way that's pleasant if you like actual peanuts, but not if you're expecting Skippy.
The honest reservation
At 340g, the jar goes fast. Especially if you're cooking with it rather than just spreading. You'll want a few jars at once, and that's clearly the idea. Stock levels vary, so if the community heat score is to be believed, don't hang about.
Personally, I'd put this up against Whole Earth without hesitation. At this price, it's a proper bargain for what it is.
